From our Salvation Army contact: We have an exciting program we are rolling out in the Marlborough and Gardner areas called “Flags for Our Forces” a fundraising program designed to specifically address the economic needs of the US Military (Veterans and families of deployed soldiers). Our goal is to raise money to help with rent, utility bills, food, clothing and other basic necessities of life. We recognize we cannot solve all of the issues, but we do know together we can help.
For each $20 donation received in the “FLAGS FOR OUR FORCES” fund raiser, The Salvation Army will place a US Flag in front of the Walker Building for Flag Day weekend – June 14-16. We expect proceeds to be $17 per flag, ALL of the proceeds will be used to support Veterans and families of active duty deployed soldiers in the Greater Marlborough Area.. Outreach (intake) will be provided by Metrowest Veterans Outreach Center via a Case Manager.
