Our Armed Forces have made and continue to make enormous sacrifices on behalf of our country every day, often in very dangerous and demanding conditions. That is why it is so important that our Servicemen and women – past and present – know that they can rely on excellent public support.

- On any given night, there are more than 100,000 homeless veterans on the street.
- Veterans face dramatically higher unemployment than those who did not serve. For those under 25, 29.1% are unemployed.
- One out of every three Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans suffers from PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or a combination of the two due to combat trauma.
- 33% of military families have credit card debt greater than $10,000 and struggle to pay their monthly bills forcing some to apply for payday loans, which only makes the problem worse.
You can help by making a $20 donation. With that donation, the Salvation Army will place a United States Flag on the front lawn of Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA during Flag Day weekend from June 13 to June 15, 2014. 90% of your donation goes towards the needs of current veterans (rent, utilities, etc.) Deadline for donations is May 31, 2014.
